Summer Engagement photoshoot at KEW Gardens
When this wonderful couple got in touch and said they wanted to plan their engagement shoot in KEW gardens, I could not have been more excited. In my opinion, Kew Gardens is one of the most beautiful and iconic locations in London, boasting 300 acres of stunning gardens, landscapes, and architecture. With breathtaking beauty, it’s no surprise that it has become a popular location for engagement photoshoots, not only for couples living in London, but across the world!
But what exactly is it about some gardens on the outskirts of London that are so appealing? I think for me it is the versatility of picture perfect spots across those 300 acres.
First and foremost, the diversity of scenery that Kew Gardens has to offer is simply unmatched. From the Princess of Wales Conservatory to the Palm House, there is an endless supply of options to choose from. The colors, textures, and shapes of the flowers and plants create a truly magical atmosphere that provides a unique and stunning backdrop for engagement photos. Whether you want a romantic and intimate shoot or are going for adventurous and fun one, Kew Gardens has it all.
The Palm House
Of course we had to start in the iconic KEW Gardens Palm House! The Palm House is a magnificent glasshouse that features a wide variety of exotic plants and flowers, including towering palms and vibrant orchids. The soaring ceilings, intricate metalwork, and glass walls provide a picturesque setting for a romantic and dreamy photoshoot. It is completely gorgeous at all times of year in whatever weather conditions. but that sunset golden glow really hit the spot when we needed it to, on this particular summer evening.
After tearing ourselves away from the Palm House, we spent the next few hours walking through the trees and landscaped gardens. Stumbling across bridges, ponds and all manner of wildlife amidst the summer breeze. This shoot was so dreamy, and we were able to perfectly document Gi and Morad’s relationship, embracing both the fun-loving and tenderness that they share for each other.
If you are planning your engagement shoot in KEW Gardens, it is important to consider the time of day and weather. The gardens themselves are open from 10am to 4.30pm, but it is best to schedule your session in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds, or contact the KEW gardens team to obtain private access for your engagement photoshoot.
