Two years ago, on one of the hottest days of the year, Becki and Avoen celebrated their relationship with a relaxed and fun DIY wedding in the heart of the New Forest (Why does this immediately sound like a Disney movie intro?). This sustainable celebration showed their love for each other… and the environment, a perfect example of how easy it is to plan a eco-friendly wedding with a little creativity (and help from family and friends).
The day began with a heartfelt church service. Becki and Avoen exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. The quaint church, adorned with simple yet elegant decorations, perfectly reflected the couple’s eco-friendly ethos. Natural flowers, locally sourced, added a touch of colour, showing how easy adding sustainable choices can be.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to a local hall nestled in the New Forest plains. The reception was a true DIY masterpiece. Family and friends came together to create a joyful and relaxed atmosphere. With some parts of the decor still being put up buy helpful guests as we all arrived! The hall was decorated with handmade crafts, recycled materials, and repurposed items, demonstrating that with a little creativity, an eco-friendly wedding can be both beautiful and budget-friendly. Becki and Avoen’s loved ones contributed their talents and efforts, making the day not only sustainable but also deeply personal, even better we were graced with the arrival of some New Forest Donkeys (which I know Becki and Avoen were really hoping for). Many guests opted to camp on site that evening and spent the evening chatting and enjoying the hand-made garden games.
Photographing New Forest Wedding’s is always such a joy, but I think this one will stay with me for a long time. Becki and Avoen were sweet enough to leave this lovely review after receiving their wedding photos.
“Katie is absolutely brilliant from start to finish! She is so friendly, professional, helpful, thinks of things you wouldn’t have. All of our friends and family said how wonderful she was as well. Thank you for capturing our special day and being an additional sparkle to our wedding.”
