In case you are interested and looking for something to read, here is a little bit of background about me (Katie), Clearly Wild Photography, and the heart behind my work.
Hi, I’m Katie, and I’m truly so excited that you are considering Clearly Wild Photography to capture your wedding day. Photographing weddings is more than simply taking pictures; it’s about documenting the people who mean the world to you and preserving the moments that might otherwise slip quietly into memory. I believe the small, fleeting, raw, and imperfectly perfect seconds — the ones you may not even notice in the moment — deserve to be seen, honoured, and held onto. Those are the moments I chase.
Clearly Wild Photography began its journey back in 2013 under the name Katie Winter Photography. Over time, as both my style and my purpose evolved, the brand transformed into what it is today. My path into photography started in a deeply personal place. When my grandad Cleary passed away, I realised just how few photographs we had of him. He had always avoided the camera, and suddenly my memories were all I had left. I felt an ache for more snapshots of his life — more tiny fragments of history to hold in my hands. That longing shaped the core of my work. I never want anyone else to feel that same emptiness of wishing for a moment captured that doesn’t exist. My goal is to document your most special people in the most meaningful way, so you can revisit those memories for years to come.
In both my life and my work, I try to be as eco-conscious as possible. I certainly don’t claim to have all the answers, and I’m the first to admit I don’t always get it perfect, but I do believe that trying matters. The waste produced by the wedding industry can be shocking, and as a wedding supplier I feel a responsibility to acknowledge that impact. I want to do better, encourage better, and help my couples make thoughtful choices. If you’re hoping for a more sustainable wedding day, I can support you by researching eco-friendly alternatives, suggesting small but meaningful changes, and offering guidance whenever you need it. Even tiny shifts can make a significant difference.
I’m also deeply passionate about inclusivity and representation within the wedding industry. For far too long, so much of the language, imagery, and marketing has been directed toward a “Bride and Groom.” While the industry is slowly changing for the better, there is still a long way to go. I am committed to ensuring that Clearly Wild Photography is a welcoming, safe, and celebratory space for every couple — regardless of gender, identity, or background. I work to reflect inclusivity in my branding, my website copy, and the images I choose to share. And if there is ever anything you feel I could be doing better, please make me aware as I am always learning.
So, If you are kind hearted souls, who want a relaxed wedding day with the people you love the most, you are in the right place.
